These aren’t just beautiful images of Jodie Hanna’s daughter Niamh (see below for a perfect Irish-native pronunciation, but basically it’s like “Neeve” – be careful if you suffer from vertigo, it’s a long way down…) – they show in passing the wonderfully unspoiled southern beaches near Wellington on New Zealand’s North Island: where the winds are coming straight from the Antarctic. To get the full wind-blown effect on the material folds, Jodie has Niamh in a thin, loose dress: it works perfectly from an artistic point of view, but boy does she look cold:
….these look more like summer:
….with not another person to be seen….whereas I’m falling over people to reach my wretched umbrella…
Windows always furnish good photographic opportunities:
….and show what great natural light Jodie can get..
…and “pink dress girl” – whom I don’t think is even Niamh, given the wavy/curly hair:
….and finally some lovely shots that don’t go into easy categories:
….and really finally, a Pinterest favourite – back on the windy beach for “The Lion Girl” – with wonderful tawny colours:
