I’m pretty sure that Polina, the model, is photographer Svetlana Kvashina’s daughter – and the baby is also her son. Here she is with her little “angel”:

….a really lovely picture.

Svetlana (born on Christmas day, thirty-five years ago) lives in Vladivostok – the base for Russia’s Pacific Fleet – and the winters are very cold: the January average being -12C. Polina’s name (and the idea that she’s portraying Diana the Huntress) comes from Svetlana’s galleries on 500px.com, where Polina appears in a large proportion of the shots – and the nameless baby in quite a few. The set is in fact a combination of images from there,  Google + and Livejournal.com – which seems to be her home site as much as anywhere.

There are easily enough attractive shots to make up another post: but she often falls into the trap of over-sugary compositions, where childhood is one long spring or summer day where everyone wears garlands of flowers in their hair (and the whites of their eyes are touched-up by over-zealous photographers). I tend to go more for the at least semi-realism of a photographer like Apasz from the previous post – but Svetlana’s sunny optimism still has a place….
