….whoever did the lighting for these should be taken outside and shot (metaphorically) – look at how they should have been done:
…..the nice idea of using the Lorca children’s poem that gives the brand El Lagarto Está Llorando (The Lizard is Crying) its name is a bit lost, but at least you aren’t peering through the gloom to see the styles….and the following ones with the dead tree aren’t much better (photographically speaking – the outfits themselves are sweet and relatively restrained):
Hats at some point became the photographer’s favourite prop (but still forgetting to use a good light source most of the time):
…..and also the pointless wooden structure that is glimpsed sometimes in the “hats” shots:
….and it’s all a real pity: the models are pretty, and are doing their best to sell the outfits – think how the photographer for Kauli or Les UltraViolettes (to name a couple of recent post subjects) would have had them sparkling and basking in light – happily using the beautiful handwritten font of the poem: possibly even taking it further and incorporating the story it tells (albeit the rather unhappy tale of Mr and Mrs Lizard losing their wedding rings).
Let’s sing the blues, and let depression reign:
…..ok, I know, the photographer’s probably the brand owner’s brother-in-law who’s filling in because they ran out of spending money (they link to Pinterest on their site: featuring two boards from 2014). We’ll end on a positive note:
….and the birds of happiness are flying up her…..well, not her nose, anyway….
And the brand at least has royal patronage – here’s the Infanta Sofia wearing one of their creations (on the right of picture):
