….wow, isn’t the expression on the last little model’s face cute/tragic… Polish photographer Michał Glazik’s girl models are usually questioning or slightly wary, with just a few offering the typical posing smile. He’s a bit elusive to research, until you realise that he’s more Pays de Rêve than “Michal Glazik” online, at least in terms of quantity. The gallery above is limited to his trademark portraits – this next group is a little more varied:
On the Facebook “About” page for Pays de Rêve he gives his attitude towards his constant subject – children:
“Children are like angels, they walk lightly, so that they hardly touch the ground with their feet. Often they detach themselves from it rising up into the air, carried up by the adults’ arms.”(Michał Głazik)
….and the last two images seem to embody this idea beautifully…
I’ve come across his portraits sporadically over the years, and some of his models came to represent Polish girlish beauty to me – until I started this blog, and realised that Polish portrait photography of children is probably the best in the world. I tend to cover photographers rather haphazardly, but so far have posted on Ewa Cwikla, Apasz, Magda Berny, Agnieska Filipowska, Anna Ajtner, Monika Serek, Edyta Linek, and most recently Natalia Grela: just click Polish photographer in the tag cloud to review the beauty and passion they reveal – you won’t be disappointed (and while even the previous reblogged post featured a Polish photographer – Gosia Jurasz – obviously it won’t turn up in the tag cloud….).
