Alex and Chloe by Zoe Adlersberg for Tuchinda SS17: Multicultural Wearable Art

A return to fashion photography with another steal inspiration from Thflg: the main single impetus being this particular portrait (among others he posted):

….it’s so beautiful and painterly that you’re desperate to know more – who are the photographer, model, stylist and label?  Well, thanks to it being fashion, accompanied by an interview with the photographer (New Yorker Zoe Adlersberg) in Pirouette Blog, we know a lot more than we did about “Tom” in the previous post!

Although the interview is more about the artist generally, it also features the session for the same brand’s previous collection: Tuchinda 2016 – with two of the same models, Alex Nymm (female – see image-link below)) and Chloe (Kranenburg?). The model in the shot above is Chloe – I’m not sure of her family name, since Zoe’s Instagram links to a private account for @lorie912 (Lorie Kranenburg – presumably her mother) – but they both model for New York Models Kids Division (like KPim on the East coast – see image-link below)….Anyway, here’s some of the set with Chloe and Alex:

…..with a key part of the session revolving round a big wicker chair, featuring Alex wearing one of South Korea-born Tina Tuchinda‘s strong geometric designs:

It’s worth noting that Tina Tuchinda has a very definite perspective on children’s fashion, and it isn’t surprising that she’s chosen a really imaginative photographic artist like Zoe to give life to her creations:

“Tuchinda expresses a high level of artistry normally reserved for luxury womenswear and menswear. I predominantly use European and Japanese fabrics, including organic fabrics whenever possible. There are a lot of pattern manipulation, sewing technique, details, prints, and colors that are highly sophisticated and not easily found in childrenswear. I believe children’s clothes should be multicultural wearable art. Tuchinda also reflects all that I loved from my travels abroad. I was most influenced by three places, Milan, Paris, and Japan. In Milan, I was intrigued by the sophisticated way they mixed multiple colors and prints in the same outfit. In Paris, I became obsessed with the nonchalant chic attitude towards dressing. In Tokyo, I embraced the “cool” break away from all that is normal seen in their streetwear and their avant-garde designs. I try to combine all of these elements in my collections.” (Tina Tuchinda interviewed by Paul et Paula.com – my highlighting)

The collection is very recent – well done Thflg for spotting it – and so there may well be more images to add later: so far neither Zoe or Tuchinda have any of the session on Facebook yet, for example.
